Why structured data matters for AI search
Search engines have used schema.org markup for years to understand business information — opening hours in Google results, star ratings in search snippets. AI models draw on the same signals.
When an AI tool is asked to recommend a business, it's pulling from everything it knows about you: your website content, third-party mentions, and structured data that clearly identifies who you are, where you are, and what you do. A well-formed JSON-LD block removes ambiguity — it tells the model your name, type, location, and contact details in a format designed to be machine-readable.
It's one signal among many, and it won't fix weak visibility on its own. But it's a straightforward step that most small business sites still haven't taken.

Structured data is one piece of the picture. The free V-Score audit checks how often ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini actually mention your brand when customers ask relevant questions — and shows you exactly where the gaps are.
